Smile Various Questions

Hi everyone! I'm Nineteen and just signed up to the guru. I've heard this is THE PLACE to hookup game questions and well, just about anything else. Sounds like D2JSP for Diablo 2! =D

I'm not only new to the Guru but Guild Wars Factions also and would love some help with this game. Truthfully, this is my first MMORPG but even that doesn't really affect my familiarity with RPGs or Online Gaming. I find a lot of RPGs similiar I guess, I dunno.

I learn really quickly but constantly mess up builds. I'm just not good at them. I've made some of the most ignorant characters already. Everytime I do something inside snaps, I get all crazy and delete them. I just deleted a level 14 R/Me because the build sucked. I was wondering if anybody could post a really, really, really godly build for either a R/Me or N/Me that I can be proud of for a very long time. I've spent numerous hours searching on the internet but every build I've found for these two classes seem that they were written for a 2nd grade English class. Not that I don't like kids, I just don't "trust" their builds I guess. I hope I'm making sense.

The last and final question I'm going to bug you guys with (and hopefully get answered =o) is about armor. I looked stupidly at the armor link on this site and was wondering where do you find all of the advanced armor? The only armor I've had even at level 14 was the single upgrade from Shing Jea Monastery! I love being a newb because I can ask really stupid questions like that and feel I shouldn't have starred in The Ringers.

Hopefully you guys can help and I can finally start a build that I won't delete. I feel burned out having the game but not getting anywhere. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Nineteen,

Welcome.

I wouldn't worry too much about builds so much at this stage in the game. Both those classes are fine to play with little or no GW's playing experience. Ranger is nice with the mesmer profession and alot of the spells that deny energy or put alot of degeneration on foes are nice with the ranger profession.

Personally the only armour I bother upgrading to is the armour from the Harbour area at around lvl 12 and then later in the game the max armour from Kenieng Centre. If you save your pennies and monastry credits as you go you'll have ample to afford armours. Bear in mind if your stuck for an amount of gold you can always kill more mobs for some whites to sell or trade your monastry cards for the experience scrolls and sell them at 100gpcs each to vendors.

Be sure to carry identify kits and salvage kits, then you can be accumilating matrerials for armour as you go.

I think just staying abreast / aware of things thru reading what's about on guru will have you conquering these area's your worried about in no time.

Goodluck.

welcome.

last is first hop off the island to the marketplace exit marketplace at top of your map to the north i think.

a short non fighting run of a few minutes takes you to kaineng center.

top stat armor with each armor person having different material requirements so you can use what you have the most of from collected materials.

as for builds go down the menu to the campfire to check out builds

BTW SAVE SOME CHARACTERS AS YOU GET A RANDOM MINIPET WHEN YOU HAVE HAD A CHARACTER UNDELETED FOR A YEAR AND THE 2 YEAR BIRTHDAY IS SUPPOSED TO BE BETTER

first and easiest place to get max stat armor

even have a poor mans option that doesnt need rare crafting materials. (you lose a bit of protection but save big bucks)
